On Campus Events

Politics on the Porch

(Pinehurst Cottage; 2nd Thursday of every month; 12:30 PM-1:30 PM)

This series seeks to inform college students how they can remain engaged in the democratic process outside of voting in national elections. Through these events, the RCDP hopes to spark interest in democratic learning that will serve as the foundation for the rest of its monthly programs.

Voter Registration Drives

Rollins has an account with TurboVote, allowing students to sign up for election reminders and receive detailed information about the registration process online. We also partner with third-party voter registration organizations such as the League of Women Voters.

Politics on Tap

(Dave’s Boathouse; last Thursday of every month; 5 PM – 6 PM)

This is an event where students, faculty, and staff come together to discuss politics in an informative and respectful manner. Topics for these events have included: immigration, women in politics, free speech and sports, and big pharma. To diversify our partnerships and engage students outside the social sciences, it is our goal to use Politics on Tap as an opportunity to explore topical interests related to the sciences and other fields with lower voter turnouts at Rollins College.
