Gimme Some Badger Balm
I posted this picture on my Facebook page about some time ago as a hint in the next feature. But a lot of people couldn't guess what it is.
Lol, and understandably so.
FYI, the animal above is called a 'badger'. And it represents the popular brand of organic body and baby/kid care products called... yes, that's right, Badger.
The peeps over at Shop@Sarah's called me over to check out the latest products that they've brought in - Badger Balms.
Just like the usual products in store, the newest addition are already well-known. Some of you might have come across Badger Balms before.
First off, a little info for those of you who have just heard of Badger products.
The company, Badger Company is a family-run business that started off in 1995. The founder, Bill, is a carpenter and because of that, he always had rough and cracked hands. So, he made a traditional all-natural herbal paste made with extra virgin olive oil, beeswax, castor oil, aloe vera and essential oil of sweet birch.
From there, a family business was born.
Sixteen years later, the Badger range consists of lip balms, massage oils, sunscreens, skin balms and more that are known for its all-natural and gentle ingredients.
Because of loads of good feedback by Badger products users, Shop@Sarah's figured that the products will be an excellent addition to their stores.
"The products are certified by both the US Department of Agriculture and our own local certification," said Shop@Sarah's owner. In other words, the 'organic' in the products' description is not just lip service, but a fact.
Taking a look at the collection at Shop@Sarah's in Seri Kiulap Mall, it was easy to tell that these are quality products, just from the packaging alone. Each product was stamped with its USDA approval, and I see a bunch of stuff that some people I know would love to have.
Rather than going on and on monotonously about the products, why don't you just look through the pictures I took below?
These Badger balms are the main products of the range, since the balms are what started it all. What's unique about these balms is that there are different balms that cater to different needs.
For example, there are balms for rough hands, after sun care, cuticle care and others. The main ingredient of these balms is the extra virgin olive oil, which is very healthy. Badger also uses natural butters like cocoa and shea in the balms.
Close-ups below!
The first picture is of the original Badger Balm, used for rough and chapped hands. According to the founder, since its creation, it has soothe trapeze artists hands, rock climbers, weight lifters and even been to the South Pole on explorers ' hands and feet.
Then, you've got the After Sun Balm (used to be called Bali Balm), Aromatic Chest Rub (for minor coughs or colds) and Sore Muscle Rub (obviously for sore muscles).
There are also Badger balm sets, like the Cuticle & Foot Duet, and the Lip & Body Trio.
The Cuticle & Food Duet are also sold separately, but the two complements each other for maximum effectivenes. The Lip & Body Trio contains the Tangerine Breeze, Highland Mint and Ginger & Lemon balms that you can dab on your lips or on any dry patches on your skin.
I would think these make excellent gifts for family or friends.
Badger Balm products are safe for children to use, as they contain absolutely no chemicals, synthetics, parabens or GMOs.
However, Badger also formulated products that can be used for babies, like the baby soap and sunscreen. The range for babies are certified by pediatricians to be made of gentle and non-synthetic ingredients.
Also works for those of you who have sensitive skin. The set, as you can see above, includes the Baby Balm and Baby Oil for soothing discomforts like, diaper rash and dry skin patches; and Night-Night Balm that promotes calmness in children.
Getting hassled by mosquitoes and such? Well, Badger has something for that too. The Anti-Bug Balm comes as a twist-up stick with active ingredients of Citronella, Cedar and Lemongrass to repel those pesky insects. Good for the skin but bad for the bug.
This is available in spray form too. :)
Next up, you've also got the various sunscreens with SPF30+ that's safe for children's skin. There are scented, unscented, sunscreen + anti-bug and also one for babies (pediatrician tested).
Apparently Badger sunscreens were one of the best-selling natural sunscreens, mainly because it contains less zinc oxide (present in sunscreens) and is also very water resistant.
Available with SPF15+ too.
Badger Sunscreen
Super-sized lip balms form Badger!
To me, these are super-sized lip balms! I bet these will last for a pretty long time. But that's not the best bit about it.
What's good about them is the main ingredient, ie. Cocoa butter. I'm sure most of you have heard of cocoa butter being used in many beauty products, and that it's because of its moisturizing properties.
Certified organic, you can have your pick of a range from mocha cocoa to lime rocket to cool mint. Say bye to chapped lips!
Or if you prefer a moisturizing lip balm with colour, Badger also has a range of lip tints. These lip balm sticks are dual-ended, with tint on one end and shimmer on the other.
I have the full set of these lip balm sticks, and have replaced my casual lipstick for the one on the far left. Unlike most lip tints, the colour is almost as strong as a lipstick and doesn't rub off easily. My lips are much less dryer, which I'm not surprised since it contains aloe vera and yes, cocoa butter too.
Available in 4 colours, both individually and as a gift set.
I didn't take photos of all the Badger Balm range, but Shop@Sarah's do have quite a range for you to browse through.
After researching, Badger Balm is a pretty impressive product and I'm not just saying that simply. The reasons why I think so is because:-
- All-natural organic ingredients, certified not only by USDA organic; but also certified truly natural by The Natures Products Association.
- No testing on animals, certified by The Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics.
- Products and its packaging are eco friendly, which is a pretty big deal these days.
And of course, the biggest reason is that it works!
If you want more information, there are also leaflets you can take to know more about what makes the products so great.
OR you can check out the Badger Balm Brunei Facebook page set up by Shop@Sarah's. Give them a try and let me know what you think.
What Else?
I also went around the store to see whether there is anything new or notable to tell you about.
And there are some that caught my interest like the cleansing and washing tool from Sigma. You know electric toothbrushes right? Well, this tool is the electric face cleanser! Change the brush head, and it becomes an electrical body scrubber. And it's PINK!
Another product that I got was the Halloween themed anti-bacterial hand gel from Bath & Body Works. Really cute and you can also get one of the colourful bottle holder so you can attach it to your bag. Cool, right?
Anyway, posted pictures below so you can check them out. Click the pictures and read the captions for info!
Ok peeps, that's all for this post.
Hope you guys enjoyed the pics. I think my posts are getting way too heavy these days, maybe less pictures? Or stop talking so much? Lol.
Anyway, I've got a few things in the works right now. So, stay tuned, and thanks for reading my posts! Toodles!!! <3

My Nails Are Zen-Like
Bonjour!
I've got to show off my nails from yesterday, so I'll do a quick blog post about it.
P, a close friend of mine, had a knackering for a foot rub. So, she pulled me along with her for a girlie session of digits-pampering at Zen Spa in Kiulap.
Another chance for me to try out another nail colour from OPI range of nail lacquers! So, check out the choice I made below.
I love this shade!
Wasn't really planning to blog about my visit to the spa, so I didn't catch the name of this shade. (Note to self : Take note of the product you use, no matter what!)
Anyway, don't you just love the shade?? It's like a deep rosy pink shade, which is just a little different from the usual deep red that I usually get.
P's stinky toes enjoying the bubbles and suds.
P & my same-coloured toe-nails!
P had the Foot Spa (B$45), while I had the Manicure & Pedicure Grooming combo (B$26).
I was tempted to go for the foot scrub as well, but my feet are EXTREMELY ticklish. So ticklish that it's not even funny!
Unfortunately, I was too impatient and kind of snagged my pretty fingernails while it was still drying. Pretty fingernails became slightly less pretty. Oh well. My own fault.
Sigh, not even one hour old.
Gotta say that OPI nail lacquers are DA BOMB! Such an extensive range of colours with a really beautiful sheen to them.
Anyway, that's all for now. Just a short post for now. Why?
Because I'm organizing The Orchid Row Blog's Birthday Game for next week, that's why!!!
I'm not going to say much now, but just watch this blog VERY closely for the next few days!

Gunny Sack Heels Anyone?
LOVE! And yes, I always pull up pants when trying heels out.
I was in Kiulap today to get satisfy my craving for Bakerlyn's chocolate chip peppermint ice-cream (yum), when I walked past Vincci.
Their clear glass store front was plastered with SALE signs with numbers and symbols like, '10% OFF', '20% OFF' and also '50% OFF'. My steps slowed, my feet slowly turning to face the doors, and what do you know, my hands reached out to push the doors open.
I didn't see a lot of shoes that I liked. But I did glimpsed this pair of summer heeled sandals that looked promising.
I had to try them out.
Here's a closer look at the sandals. Pretty, isn't it???
It was made of some sort of gunny sack kind of material, which is pretty different; with navy blue material serving as borders and lining. These sandals also come 2 other colours; black and dark green (I think).
The price, after applying its 20% discount, came down to B$54 (I think).
Note to self : Remember prices.
And as for VINCCI's sale, visit them quick as their Sale end this Sunday!
I should get those sandals, shouldn't I?
VINCCI is a popular and prominent Malaysian brand, held under Padini Holdings Berhad. Their products offer style and chic-ness with an affordable price tag, with most of their footwear made from synthetic material. VINCCI has been serving the Brunei market for 10 years.

i Heart My Laptop!
Just last week, after months and months of dreaming, I made a big splurge and bought myself the new MacBook Pro!
I was soooo excited about getting it, that I was disappointed when I visited AV Electronics and found out that the laptops have not arrived in Brunei yet. But I put in a deposit and AV Electronics added my order to a growing list of orders for the newly released MacBook Pro.
I've been wanting to get myself a MacBook Pro since way back last year. And here's proof of that!
The main reason why I wanted one was because I really needed a laptop of my own. After my university years and the timely death of my bulky Acer, I didn't really have a need for a laptop.... That is, until I started blogging.
You see, all this time, my sister's laptop has been the victim of my clickety-clack blogging fingers! So, don't worry, sister. You can breathe a sigh of relief now!
Collage by PhotoShake; Label by LabelBox; iPhone Apps
I've always been a Windows user, so using a MAC OS X system is kind of a challenge for me. But so far, it's pretty easy to use and I've already learnt some of the keyboard shortcuts.
Anyway, the below are specs of this particular MacBook Pro 13" model:-
Processor
2.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor
The processor is amazingly fast. I mean, it starts up in less than 30 seconds! And I may have gotten the smaller screen laptop, but it already feels rather large for me. The MacBook Pro 13" also comes in a higher spec, with the 2.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 processor, which is an even more powerful processor. But for a blogger like me, the i5 processor is more than enough.
Now, the next thing I need to get is a bag for my new baby. Here's a few that I've been checking out.
Earlier, I posted a picture of the Kate Spade New York 13" Felt Sleeve asking for comments on it. And I had received a unanimous 'YES!!" from everyone who commented. So, I want to give a SHOUT-OUT for those fashionistas who gave a thumbs up to the Kate Spade.
The first couple of commenters! Hi ladies!
And the ladies gave their verdict!
But I still want to know what others have to say. Or maybe if you have a suggestion for me? Just drop your thoughts into the comments below! Which one would be perfect for a shopaholic like me?
i Heart My MacBook Pro!
xoxo
AV Electronics are the Premium Seller for Apple products in Brunei. And I had bought the new MacBook Pro 13" (2.3 GHz Intel Core i5) at B$1,748 that comes with a 1-year warranty.

Revive Your Skin With Skin79
Hello ladies!
Here I am again with a Skin79 feature. Why? Because of the new range that caught my eye - The Skin79 WHITE Reviving Skin Radiance skincare collection.
Now, we had always associated Skin79 with BB creams, but the Queen of all BB creams is branching out into skincare. We've already got the BB creams as part of our makeup routine, why not make it all rounded with some skincare products right?
So far, Skin79 has released a few skincare collections which are available in Asia, America and other locations around the world. And now, these ranges are available to us in Brunei!
So, apa lagi? I grabbed my purse and head out the door.
If you didn't know already, Skin79 currently has two branches. One located in the heart of Gadong, aka The Mall, on the 1st floor; with the other branch on the ground floor of the Seri Kiulap Mall.
I'm not one for traffic and parking woes, so Seri Kiulap Mall was where I headed to. Once there, I noticed that there are new products on the shelves. One of them being the Skin79 WHITE Reviving Skin Radiance Skincare Collection.
Apparently, this skincare line from Skin79 doesn't simply whitens your skin, but also was specially formulated to make your skin feel reborn. I was informed that the line is pigment-free, mineral oil-free and paraben-free.
'Paraben?' I asked.
Paraben, I was told, is a preservative that is commonly found in makeup, shampoos, lotions and even food, to make the product more long-lasting.
However, this Skin79 collection do not contain paraben, as it actually does not give any benefits to your skin. But because it doesn't contain paraben, it is also suitable for those who have sensitive skin.
A nicer picture of the Skin79 WHITE Reviving Skin Radiance collection
The range is made up of 7 different products, each formulated with a combination of niacinamide, salicylic acid and lecithin. If that sounds like gibberish to you, well, these ingredients' main function is to brighten dull skin while maintaining moisture for the skin.
I find that the products in the range is not your typical arrangement. You know the typical arrangement where you have your cleanser, toner, moisturiser and then serum. So, I was a little confused at first, on what to wear first and what comes next.
So, I'm going to break it down for you.
First product in the range is the WHITE Reviving Skin Radiance Softner. This is the first step in the routine and you pat this over your entire face after cleansing.
It acts as a toner for the early stage of smoothening rough skin and prepare your skin for better absorption of the rest of the range.
Optional
Then, you've got the WHITE Reviving Skin Radiance Mask Sheet that's made of pure cotton that contains Flora-WH to brighten the skin from the inside.
You use the mask after the toner and actually, this product is optional to your routine. But for best results, you might want to also get this mask.
Must-Have
After the toner (and mask sheet, if you have one), it's time to put the must-have product from the range - The WHITE Reviving Skin Radiance Solution.
The Solution contains concentrated whitening skin serum to prevent melanin pigmentation and blemishes, while generating a moisture barrier for your skin.
As told by the Skin79 peeps, even if I don't get the entire set, I must get the Solution as it does all the heavy work of brightening the complexion.
Optional
For those of you who suffers from tired-looking eyes (and I have a pretty bad case of it), the WHITE Reviving Skin Radiance Eye Serum would be the next product to use. The eye serum comes out from the middle of the flat top applicator at the head of the bottle.
What it does is to help get rid of those pesky dark circles while maintaining the skin area around your eye. Just apply the serum in 3 or 4 spots around the eye, and pat the serum into your skin gently around the eyes.
The flat top applicator of the Eye Serum that I was talking about.
Then comes the Skin79 WHITE Reviving Skin Radiance Emulsion. If you had skipped the Eye Serum step, you can proceed right to this step.
The Emulsion is more concentrated into 'feeding' your skin with moisture and nutrition. It controls the balance of oil and moisture, which leads to optimized skin condition for the whitening process.
Final Step
The last must-have product to use would be the Skin79 WHITE Reviving Skin Radiance Cream, which acts as a moisturiser, to increase the effects of the skin-brightening process.
It also contains Flora-WH, the active ingredient to prevent creation of melanin, brighten the skin, while providing nutrients and moisture.
Optional
The Skin79 WHITE Reviving Skin Radiance Sunblock is another optional product to include into your brightening regime. I don't use sunblock, since I'm usually indoors all day. But not everybody has a cushy office job right?
Well, this sunblock provides that extra protection with its SPF40 PA ++, which is pretty strong indeed!
All in all, the skincare collection intrigued me with its all-rounded products. Not that I'm very dark or anything, but who doesn't want a fairer and clearer complexion right?
And after I read some of the customers' comments on Skin79 Brunei's Facebook page, I want to get this line even more.
Source: Skin79 Brunei Facebook Page
So, anyway, for those of you who are also thinking of trying out the Skin79 WHITE Reviving Skin Radiance skincare collection, Skin79 is currently having a special promotion.
Buy any one product from the collection and you will get 20% off, member or non-member. AND you'll also automatically receive a Skin79 VIP Club membership card. That's a great deal, because normally, you need to spend B$300 to get a Skin79 VIP Club membership.
BUT this offer ends on 6th March 2011, THIS SUNDAY. So, I suggest you better get moving and head to the nearest Skin79 branch!
Adios for now!

I Heart Skin79 Brunei!
First, there was The Faceshop and Skinfood. Then came, Etude House.
NOW, say 'Anyong Ha Seyo' to Skin79, the next big wave of Korean beauty products to hit the shores of Brunei!
With its long-time official title of being the BB Cream Queen, Skin79 is guaranteed to get a lot of fans in Brunei. Unlike other Korean brand beauty stores in Brunei, Skin79 offers a wide range of BB creams to suit every skin type with different needs.
Though only weeks old, Skin79's Seri Kiulap Mall and The Mall Gadong branches have seen many visitors coming through their doors to get their hands on their BB creams.
But first, let's get back to the basics. What the heck is a BB cream?
BB Cream Basics
- A new cosmetic category of its own that provides coverage as well as effective healing results. Think of it as a foundation and moisturizer cream in one.
- Originally created by German dermatologists and used specifically as a healing salve for patients who had undergone chemical peels and laser treatments.
- Made famous when Korean celebrities discovered BB creams and used exclusively by them. Song Hye Gyo was one of the first celebrities to admit using BB creams, specifically, Skin79's.
- Since then, BB creams have evolved and formulated to provide sun damage protection, sebum control, acne treatment, skin whitening and wrinkle improvement.
- Skin79 is the first to introduce BB creams commercially into the cosmetic market.
Brunei Says Anyong Ha Seyo!
I visited both Skin79 branches at Seri Kiulap Mall (Ground floor) and The Gadong Mall (First floor). Love the simple yet attractive decor. You definitely won't miss the stores if you're in either places because they really stand out!
The staff are super friendly, and had let me try some products while briefing me on each particular product. I also have a bunch of pink brochures, which has details of what products are available AND a sample BB cream packet inside!
After 15 minutes chatting with Skin79's peeps at Seri Kiulap Mall, which opened first, I left with the Skin79 BB Miniature Set, which contains four tubes of BB creams, so I could test out which one would suit me best.
Such a pretty set of hot pink, rose, gold and pearl!
- Hot Pink Super BB Cream
The most popular one by far! Triple-function which affects whitening, wrinkle improvement and produces brighter and more elastic skin.
Tried this one first and it adjusted to my skin tone pretty well, although a slightly greyish cast can be seen under sunlight for me. But minimized my pores and evened out my skin tone, and feels as if I've put nothing on.
- Diamond Prestige BB Cream
Also with Triple-Effect that targets whitening, wrinkle improvement and sunblock but with a dewy glow. This one was not too bad too.
Feels great because of the light texture and again, made skin flaws less obvious.
However, dewy is not a good look for me since my skin tends to get oily fast.
- VIP Gold BB Cream
My absolute favourite! Also has the same three functions which contains Gold and Caviar extracts. Blends almost perfectly to my skin tone and gives an overall radiant look! Must be because of the Gold.
It looks so natural on me and controls the oiliness I tend to get throughout the day. I only had to blot only twice for the entire day!
L O V E I T!
- Diamond Pearl Luminous BB Cream
Like its name, it enhances the skin's radiance while covering up your your smaller problems. Again, you can look great while the cream work on skin whitening, wrinkle improvement and protection on UVA & UVB rays.
I may have put on too much of this when I tried it, because my skin looks a little sparkly ala Twilight style. But I would definitely use this for a night out. Plus, the full bottle comes with a soft applicator brush!
More Skin79!
Skin79 has other products in their range and it's an extensive range, indeed! Makeup remover facial cleanser, BB creams for men, BB face powder, lip balm and more.
Just check out the gallery of photos that I took below!
The photo gallery requires at least Flash 9.0.28!
Please install the current FlashPlayer.
I was so in love with the VIP Gold BB cream that I went back to get the full bottle. This time, I went to The Mall Gadong branch, which is on the first floor.
Tested out more awesome products, and ended up purchasing the Smart Clean Foam Cleanser as well, which is a makeup/BB cream remover and facial wash in one. Very happy with my purchases! :D
So Which One Should You Get?
With Skin79's wide range, it can get confusing to decide which BB cream you should get. Firstly, ascertain your skin type. Do you have oily skin? Dry skin? Or a combination of both?
Now, take a look at the chart below to get an idea of which BB creams could be the one for you.
Then, head over to Skin79 where the friendly girls will let you test the BB creams and help you with your choice.
Trust me, these girls know their stuff and I probably spend more time chatting to them about the products than actually testing them out.
My Verdict?
As a first-time BB cream user, I am very impressed with Skin79. Why I love them is because of how light it feels, as if you're not using makeup at all!
If you've used makeup before, you know how wearing foundation can sometimes feel heavy and gives the impression that your pores are getting clogged. So, you can tell the difference when you use BB creams instead.
I take less time to primp up in the morning, because I skip my moisturiser, foundation and sometimes, powder. Even if you have quite a bit of flaws to cover up, BB creams serve as an excellent makeup base.
I know that some of the comments mention that it's greyish or doesn't match your skin tone. But remember, that most BB creams have a greyish tinge due to its whitening properties. Not make you appear fair, but ACTUALLY treating your natural skin to be fairer over time.
As for skin tone matches, well, this is why there's a wide range for you to find the one that matches you. Don't be shy and ask for help from the store's staff.
I have a feeling that Skin79's BB creams are going to have a permanent place in my beauty arsenal.
And it's not just me. Judging from Skin79 Brunei's Facebook Page, most women would agree with me!
So, what are you waiting for?! Go and get BB'ed now!
Toodles!!

The Birthday Gift Mask
It was G's birthday a few weeks ago. She got a text from The Faceshop that as she is a Faceshop member, she's eligible to claim her birthday gift from The Faceshop.
So, off we went to The Mall Gadong a couple of days ago.
As always, walking into the store, it strikes me how BRIGHT the lighting of the store is. Some girls may prefer that, but I am not one of them. I always feel that every spot and pimple is exposed every time I'm in there!
And I don't know if you girls noticed, but their four branches in Brunei has varying degree of brightness. The KB branch has a more yellowish and dimmer lighting, while the Yayasan and The Mall branches is whiter lighting tone.
But, by far, the brightest lit Faceshop branch is at Times Square. It's like a shining jewel in the dark!
This pic is actually of a Faceshop branch in S'pore. Couldn't find a similar one of Brunei's Faceshop branches.
Anyway, back to G's birthday gift from The Faceshop. If it's your birthday month, all Faceshop members get:-
- A 20% discount voucher on any regular priced item;
- A 50% discount voucher on a SINGLE item;
- A Faceshop Face Mask
Power Treatment Gel Mask (Clarifying & Pore Care) from Faceshop
The Power Treatment Gel Mask supposedly clarifies skin and provides gentle exfoliation to help reduce excess oil and pore clogging debris, while leaving skin feeling, fresh, supple and smooth.
The instructions for the face mask, found at the back of the packet, looks simple enough. Separate mask from film, put the top piece on the upper part of your face, put the bottom piece on the lower part of your face, wait for 20 minutes. And then, take it off.
The Face Mask comes in two pieces.
Tearing open the packet, the mask doesn't look all that simple to use.
The two-piece mask was quite wet and slippery, which is quite common, I suppose. But there were a few layers to the mask, and we weren't quite sure which to pull off. So, just guessed, pulled off the whitish paper off, and put the gel-side of the mask on.
The bottom part of the mask.
MASK ON!
Twenty minutes later...
The mask remained wet and was dripping down G's neck. After peeling the mask off, G massaged her face with her palm for maximum absorption and declared that her skin feels refreshed.
There's no obvious changes to the skin as this was just a one-time use. But it looks interesting and I may get some of these for myself.
If you're wondering why the mask is in two pieces, I'm guessing it's so that the masks will fit all face sizes. Sometimes, I get face masks that are too big, and it's such a hassle.
So, I like that Faceshop thought of that and produced these kind of face masks for ease of use.
The Faceshop has a range of face masks for you to try out, including those pictured above. If anyone had tried any other Faceshop masks, I'd like to hear what you'd have to say about it here. :)
And remember, if it's your birthday month, don't forget to head to The Faceshop to get your birthday gifts!
Until next time!
UPDATED: Added 50% discount voucher for birthday special discounts.

Evil Has Never Looked So Good
Who doesn't love the Disney characters that we have all grown up watching? Snow White, The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty and so many more beloved animated movies.
Now, MAC Cosmetics and Disney, has come together and bring us an irresistable mix of fairy tale and beauty, with a dash of evil, in their new limited edition line of cosmetics; Venomous Villains.
The Disney female villains!
The collaboration between the two mega corporations had long been talked about with much hype surrounding the collection. And the hype sure wasn't just that!
The MAC's Venomous Villains collection was launched in the US on 30th September and today, about half of the collection has already been sold out online! So, you can just imagine the rush of girls (and maybe, a few men) during the launch.
Dr Facilier Collection
For a minute, I was wondering who Dr Facilier was. He looked familiar but couldn't connect it to a Disney movie. A Google search revealed that he's the villain from the movie 'The Princess and The Frog', the latest movie amongst this collection. I've watched the movie before, but this movie is not exactly a classic yet.
Dr Facilier's Pigments
I'm liking the pigments in the Dr Facilier collection. They come in bright pops of color in my favourite shades :-
- Melon : Peachy-gold with subtle pink undertones;
- Bold and Brash : A pop of dark pink with satin sheen;
- Push the Edge : A shimmer of violet purple.
These pigments would be an excellent addition to add 'oompf' to your eyeshadow or lip colour.
What are pigments and how to use them
Maleficent Collection
Oooh, this collection is my favourite so far! Maybe 'cause Maleficent is such a cool badass. But look at the shades! I think the collection totally incorporates her essence, dark and sinister shades of purples.
I'm dying to get my hands on these eyeshadows! My Dark Magic features glimmering shades of deep pink and plum while She Who Dares features pearlescent shades of deep navy and forest green. Need I explain why I love these shades? I really don't think so.
I also wouldn't mind having the gorgeous nail lacquers below. The multi-coloured hues are absolutely gorgeous!
Evil Queen Collection
The villainess from Snow White turned into a bad apple because of her obssession with beauty. *Laughs at own pun* This MAC collection contains lovely shades of red and pink. So, lovers of feminine shades would like these ones.
My pick? This powder blush, aptly named Bite of An Apple. The shade of soft coral pink is guaranteed to add a pop of color to a pale face. I'm not really a 'blusher' girl but this one, I would get.
Quote from MAC Cosmetics on this collection:
"The vain Evil Queen from Snow White. Unleashed by Disney in 1937. Jean Harlow eyebrows. Joan Crawford's face. She set the standard for glamorous depravity and made us all glad we don't have a mirror that talks back."
Cruella de Vil Collection
No one can carry being fiendishly fashionable better than the mean Cruella. Skinning 101 dalmations for a fur coat?! In the name of fashion?? So eeevviilll!
Her collection, however, is far from ugly. Mostly made up of light, dreamy shades of nudes and plum, this color palette would appeal to those who are into neutral colors, like me.
Cruella's MAC Lipstick and Lipgloss
I love that the lipglosses complements the lipsticks. And absolutely loving the picture of Cruella's expression while playing with the puppies on the lipgloss!
From left to right:
- Heartless - Cherry red
- Innocence, Beware! - Light yellow pink
- Wicked Ways - Deep fuchsia with pink pearl
- Devilishly Stylish - Light nude with gold pearl
All in all, MAC's Venomous Villains collection is a gorgeous bundle of palettes that any girl should be proud to own. It's safe to say that the collaboration between MAC Cosmetics and Disney is a highly successful one, and it sure is going to be difficult to get the range. It's difficult enough that there's no MAC distributors in Brunei, what more when the collection is fast selling out in other countries?
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the post and be sure to tell me which is your favourite piece in this post's comments!
Since this page is already heavily-loaded with pictures, I've put the exclusive MAC Venomous Villains Face Charts here. Enjoy!
I'll also be uploading pictures of each and every product in Orchid Row Facebook page for your viewing pleasure. Let's talk about it there in the comments, shall we? Looking forward to chatting with you on the collection!

Fashion Week In The Big Apple
New York Fashion Week!
New York Fashion Week (or Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week) has just ended and I, like many others, have been digesting all the beautiful Spring/Summer collections of the well-known and obscure designers.
For 7 whole days, runway shows were scheduled to run all day at the Lincoln Centre for the Performing Arts and I've managed to view some of the designs real-time, thanks to @SydneSummer.
Without further ado, let's move on to the fun stuff. The following are some of the designers and their work that I took a special liking to. For a closer look at the outfits, just click on the pics. Enjoy!
Thakoon Panichgul
Thakoon Panichgul is an American Thai fashion designer whose style is an interesting mix of elegance and playfulness. I'm loving his spring/summer collection where he plays with nude coloured drapes and vibrant mixes of floral prints.
Interesting fact : US First Lady Michelle Obama wore one of his dresses for the 2008 Democratic National Convention.
BCBG Max Azria
BCBG (Bon Chic, Bon Genre), which means 'good style, good attitude', is one of my favourite designers at the moment. His designs are very body conscious and makes the most of the curves and slopes. Just look at the above mini party frocks. Simplicity with little adornment that relies on the drapes and texture to bring out the beauty of his designs.
I've added a few more of BCBG frocks below just for your viewing pleasure.
Jenny Packham
Jenny Packham is another designer that had caught my eye through @SydneSummer's tweets. Her collection features mainly metallics and nudes, however, there were some dresses that had a little splash of coloured prints. The first picture, being my favourite, had phoenix-like prints in burnt amber and cornflower blue, against a grey background. Most of the dresses have a nude coloured underlining to emphasize the 'see-through' quality.
As you can see, I'm a fan of colours. I love it when an outfit can incorporate bright and vibrant colours in a very tasteful way. I find wearing bright colours boost my mood, as if somehow, I also feel 'brighter'. I sure can't carry off canary yellow like Heidi Klum does, but I can experiment right?
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I did. I'll probably be doing a Part 2 because there are soooo much more beautiful designs that should have a mention here. So, watch out for it!

My First Time.... With Ojon
Hello girls! (And men, if any).
If you had been following me on Facebook and Twitter, then you'd know that I just bought the Ojon Treatment Cream from The ANstore yesterday. I was excited about it because my hair is in DIRE need of some tender loving care.
I'm not the type to go for hair treatments often at the salon, because it's too expensive to go often and sometimes, I just don't have the time. So, I'm always on a lookout for a cheaper and convenient alternative. When The ANstore introduced the Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment, I was eager to try it out.
The Ojon comes in a 150ml rounded bottom tub, nicely packaged in brown box made of recycled material. On opening the Ojon, there is a protective clear plastic seal that you must remove carefully. Included is a small brown brush and a brown disc cover. The cover is to remove air from the tub after using the Ojon and reseal it.
Now, my hair is thick and long. Not only is it a lot in volume, its strands are also thick and coarse.
I had my hair curled permanently about 2 years ago and have only trimmed it once in awhile since then. It's not exactly damaged but it is quite dry and split ends are also starting to show.
- I scooped about one teaspoon of the Ojon into my hands and rub it between my palms until it turned into an oily substance. It's a messy business so make sure you do this in the bathroom.
- You don't have to pre-wash your hair so I started to smooth the cream into my hair from scalp to the ends of my hair.
- Repeated the previous step until my hair is saturated. I tried to use as little as possible but ended up using about eight tablespoons! I also used an extra tablespoon for the dry ends of my hair.
- Once done, I used the provided comb to distribute the cream evenly. To make sure my hair absorbs the Ojon, I blewdry my hair for 5 minutes with the hairdryer set on 'hot'. Then, I put on a shower cap so that it won't stained my pillows when I sleep. You don't have to leave it on overnight unless you have very damaged hair. Twenty minutes would already be enough.
Next day, I woke up and found that my lousy shower cap had came off. So, I have a pillow case waiting for me to wash it. Anyway, on to the results:-
- It was a bit difficult for the shampoo to lather, so I had to shampoo my hair twice. Once shampooed, I noticed that my hair is less tangled than it usually is.
- Used my conditioner next. I usually need to use a lot of conditioner, because that's the only time I can 'comb' my permed hair. But this time, I didn't use as much. Getting excited at this point.
- After washing the conditioner off, I towel-dried my hair. My hair felt different. I don't know how to describe it, but it felt like new hair.
- Took out my hair dryer again and started to blow dry my hair. I usually blow dry it until it's just damp, then let it air dry. This is to keep your hair from getting all dried out.
My hair is completely dry now and, it is definitely smoother, softer and more manageable. I'm feeling the ends of my hair now and it feels so much softer than the usual brittle ends. I'm really happy with the results, especially after only one time of using it! I can't help imagining the condition of my hair after using the Ojon for a month.
So if you have been sitting on the fence about the Ojon, be rest assured. I am confident that you will be able to see a noticeable difference after one use. Just as The ANstore had said, although it's expensive, in the long run, it sure beats getting regular hair treatments at the salon.
i love Ojon!
xoxo

'Apple' Of My Eye
For this post, I'm going to go technical and talk about Apple electronics. I'm a newly inducted Apple fan and am proud of it!
Think gleaming chrome and silver sheen. Think beautiful display and smooth program transition. The design of their products is so sleek and sexy, which makes them the perfect accessory for me.
The cause of my recent conversion - The iPhone 3GS.
In an impulsive move, I had bought off an iPhone 3GS (32GB) from a close friend at a bargain. The iPhone was barely a month old and my friend couldn't type on it to save his life. He said,"My thumbs are too big!"
Eversince I am an owner of an iPhone, my absolute conclusion is that it is THE best phone ever!
Although the new iPhone 4 had came out just months after I purchased my iPhone 3GS, I had no regrets not waiting for the new model to come out.
For one thing, it costs a bomb, and if you were not aware, the iPhone 4 had problems. Apparently, it's a phone that has problems in actually making a phone call. Ironic right?
Now, the iPad is one cool gadget that I can only dream of owning. The functionality of the Apple applications on the iTouch and iPhone, is put on a more sophisticated level.
Not to mention, it earns major style points due to its superb graphics and, slim and compact frame.
But my true mission is to possess the Macbook Pro.
Since the new models were released into market in April this year, I have been wanting to get one of these babies to replace my current laptop. It boasts of a powerful 2.53 GHz processor, massive 500GB hard drive and stunning HD graphics. The 15" model is only 2.41 thick and weighs in at 2.54kg.
Although I'm a Windows-user, I do not mind one bit to learn how to use a Mac operating system. This item is on the very top of my wishlist and I hope to get one by the end of this year.
Just as pets had became fashion accessories, I consider gadgets as one too. And as far as gadgets go, Apple products are the must-have accessories of the season.
Cheerio!

Sexy Body Shaping Undergarments!
I knew you ladies's eyes would shoot straight to this first sentence after the blog post title grabbed your attention. I can even hear the thought running through your head - "Se-xy Bo-dy Sha-ping Un-der-gar-ments. Oooooohh!!"
Don't try to deny it.
Anyhoo, last week, I had met up with SW, good friend of mine, for dinner. It was quite awhile since I've seen her, so you can imagine my surprise when she showed up for dinner. "Wow! SW, you look great! I don't mean to sound so cliche, but did you lose weight?!", I exclaimed. She smiled and said that she'd tell me over dinner.
So, through the dinner, she told me about this series of undergarment she has been wearing over the past few months, which can shape and sculpt one's figure by shifting existing fat to other parts of your body. It sounded incredible, but I was intrigued.
Diamant Crystal Fibre Series
The Diamant Crystal Fibre Series is a line of body-shaping undergarments from the Easecox International Group that incorporates fat-shifting principles with health improvement through the supermicrocrystals woven into the undergarment's fabric.
Basically, these undergarments help shape the body through its precise and calculated design in the garment's measurements and fabric. The supermicrocrystals in its material fibres boost blood circulation and metabolism to achieve enhanced health effects.
You can read a detailed description of the concept behind the Diamant Crystal Fibre Series here.
The undergarments in the series comes in a variety of functions and are also designed to be pleasing to the eye. The Gemstone Mesh Corset (first picture), for example, raises the hip edges, flattens the abdomen and shapes the thighs; while the Butt-hip Enhancer Type A (third picture), prevents the abdomen from protuding and perfects your hip profile. So, thin women who want a curvier body, will also benefit from Easecox's line of body-shaping undergarments.
Here are some before-and-after pictures of the product users I found online:-
Pretty unbelievable right? There's even a Facebook Fanpage called 'We Love Easecox!' for people who love their products. Oh, and by the way, Easecox has a line of body undergarments especially for men as well. Well, not exactly for body-shaping, more like butt-shaping.
So, that's my round-up on the Diamant Crystal Fibre Series of body-shaping undergarments. What impresses me the most about the product is that it not only concentrates on body-slimming (like most body shaping products does), but also emphasizes on improving health issues that most women have.
We hope this post was helpful to you and please let us know if you have purchased a set of the undergarment!
Signing off for now! :)
If you are interested in the product, you may contact Jane at 8636386 to arrange a meeting and a free fitting session, or just to enquire about the product.
Representatives from Kuala Lumpur will also be in Brunei from 22nd June (Tuesday) to 23 June (Wednesday). They will be available for a casual meeting for you to know more on the product and also see real live results of wearing the product. Don't miss this opportunity!

Why You Should Get A Bag Organizer
Typical stuff found in my handbag
My handbags are forever messy. They're always bulging with things and it always takes more than 10 seconds to take out something from the bag.
Although, my handbags have pockets, compartments and zipped pockets, the routine is always the same - hand dives into the bag, scrounge in front compartment, then search back compartment, poke fingers into both inner pockets, go back to first compartment to scrounge more thoroughly at the bottom corners, then the same with the back compartment, frustrated, spread the bag wide open and push things around until I see what I'm looking for.
What? You don't have this problem? Bollocks.
Unless you've got a bag organizer...
This is a bag organizer. Don't be fooled by its simple appearance.
This thingamabob appeared on my Facebook newsfeed and out of curiosity, I clicked on the picture. I was hooked right away...
Bag organizers have multiple designated spaces for the typical items in a handbag. Usually, you can find a wide space for larger items like your wallet, lots of pockets for various sized items and even a key holder.
They come in different sizes to cater for the various bag sizes and the biggest reason why I love them is because you can move your things to another bag without any hassle! Sometimes, I get lazy to switch bags (which I'm sure happens to you too) because you have to move ALL your stuff. Well, gone are those days now. :)
Our Favourites
Love this one! Pink and black WITH a key fob. No more house keys or car keys lost in the jungle that is my bag. The pink ribbon gives it a girly decorative touch and handles for easy handbag-switching.
Retails at $28.00
Click here to see more {F}un-Mess Bags from Asanty Collections!
Simpler design but equally lovely. Features smaller sized pickets for your pens, eyeliners etc. Inner lining has a patterned fabric for some eye candy. Other sizes and colours available at the links below.
All-U-Want Bags retails at $18.00 (L)
All-U-Need Bags retails at $16.00 (M)
Now, there's no excuse for you to have a messy bag. Even if you don't have a messy bag, think of the convenience of switching bags in a matter of seconds! That is reason enough to have one of these around. We've put in our order, have you?
Asanty Collections features these awesome bag organizers at reasonable prices. Asides from bag organizers, the collection also offers handbags, wallets, jewellry and fabulous items! The woman behind Asanty Collections has a lovely cheeky personality and it's a joy to talk to her.

i Heart Forever 21
You won't believe it but I got to know about Forever 21 just recently. And now that I know of it, I don't know how I went through my life without even having heard of this clothing brand!
I came across it in one of my web browsing spree (internet version of window shopping). I'd often browse various websites in the hope of spotting a French Connection bargain, or the latest addition to the DKNY fashion collection. Although I might find the occasional online boutique or sample sale, rarely do I make a discovery such as this! Forever 21 could well become one of my favourite fashion outlets. Not only the clothes and shoes were gorgeous, they're so affordable too! And apparently, they are a phenomenon in the fashion industry.
In an industry dominated by huge European conglomerate, two poor Korean immigrants had managed to start from a small clothes retailer in Los Angeles in 1984 and today, they have more than 400 stores operating worldwide.
The company makes high fashion clothes made with cheaper material and simpler designs to make it more affordable for us wannabe fashionistas. In Asia, the Forever 21 stores have opened in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Korea and Japan. But, not in Brunei :(
However, we managed to source some Forever 21 items for all you Forever 21 fans. Grab them while you can because the items are not re-stockable. The turnover for designs is very fast and once designs are out, it never comes back.
In the meantime, here's a slideshow of items on my Forever 21 wishlist. Enjoy!
