In The Spotlight : Juicy Boutique
Hola peeps!
Yes, it's been awhile since my last post. I've been getting lazy actually, so haven't really hit on any new stores and such since Chinese New Year...
... Until last week when I came across a gem of a boutique by accident.
I was in Batu Bersurat, on my way from my car to facial appointment when the window display of Juicy Boutique attracted my attention. There was this really pretty bag hanging right in front of mannequin wearing what looked like a white trim woolen jacket.
Welcome to Juicy Boutique!
So, after my facial appointment, I dropped by to check Juicy Boutique out. I was greeted by Priscilla, the owner of the boutique, who told me that most of the clothes are on offer prices and to look around to my heart's content.
Although the store interior wasn't very fancy, after just a couple of minutes browsing the racks, the clothes tell a different story. I noticed two things immediately :-
- The styles of the clothes were uncommon to what's usually found in Brunei; and
- The clothes' quality is EXCELLENT.
So, I turned to ask Priscilla where these are clothes from. When she said 'Korea', I went "Ahhh, no wonder."
You see, I'm partial to Korean clothes. Not only am I a fan of their fashion, you also cannot deny the quality of their clothes, in terms of its material and craftsmanship. So, clothes from Korea are distinctly different from clothes from other Asian countries.
Anyway, enough about that. Let's check out the pictures to see what Juicy Boutique has to offer.
Racks of clothes against candy striped wall.
More clothes on the other racks.
The store isn't ginormous so there aren't tonnes and tonnes of clothes. Even so, the variety of clothes include dresses, blouses, pants (including work pants), skirts (both long and short), jackets and some tees.
And as you will see further down this post, there are also some shoes, handbags and other accessories.
One of my first picks.
This black dress is made of a heavy cotton material with a lace lined collar. Because the material is a little heavy, the dress drapes pretty well. And no, it's not too thick for our weather.
Plus, I think it's appropriate to wear for both casual and formal occasions.
I like the simple lace detail and you can see the material is not too thick.
This bright pink dress is pretty cute too.
A summer dress in bright pink, with heart patterns all over. It's a little too bright for my skin tone, I think. But for all you fair skinned ladies, you might like this one.

My personal favourite.
I super love this dress. It's made of wool and has lines running diagonally across the material. It's pretty snug since it's cut in an hourglass shape, but its soft and stretchable material gives enough give to fit nicely on the body.
The selling point for me? The pockets. :)
Contrasting blouses.
Rugged jacket in green, zipper is lined in deep maroon.
The wool jacket in the display that caught my eye.
This was the jacket that was on display when I walked past the store. It reminded me a lot of the jackets that Jackie O used to wear. The material of the jacket is quite thin, so it's meant to be worn for layering.

Pegged trousers in purplish grey
Although you can't really tell from the pictures, these pegged trousers are in a slightly purplish grey. They look short, but they actually reach just past my ankles. But then again, I'm not exactly tall. :S
Really nice cutting, and these pants comes in true grey as well.
Slight purply/pink grey when I compare them against the grey version.
Like I said earlier, they also have some accessories like handbags and clutches. Take the wallets below, that can double up as clutches too. The orange one comes with a detachable shoulder strap so you can carry it over the shoulder too.
Vibrant coloured wallets.
The handbag below was the one hanging in the display that caught my attention. Love the patterned scarf against that really nice shade of blue.
And you can see, by the clasps, that the shoulder strap is detachable too. That's not the only thing detachable though. The scarf is also detachable. Priscilla showed me how, by removing both the strap and the scarf, you can turn this bag into an envelope clutch.
Gorgeous!
Scarf is attached to the bag with buttons. Cool right?
You can also find some cute earrings on display.
I came out of Juicy Boutique with a couple of stuff that day and I had gotten a pretty good deal too. Some of the items were on offer since they were one of the last pieces.
One thing I need to warn you though, don't expect the prices for Korean clothing to be cheap. Korean clothing tend to be priced higher compared to those from China or Thailand. But if you're lucky, the items you like at Juicy Boutique could be on discounted prices.
If you like what you see, drop by Juicy Boutique at Batu Bersurat. You can also add Priscilla Tan on Facebook to get updates on her monthly new arrivals.
Hope you girls find something you like!
xoxo

Ooohh I LOVE that bag! The colour is sweet and scarf added a nice touch to it. Love the button detail at the back and the fact that it can be worn as an envelope clutch.

Hola Rina! Yeah, it's really that nice. I should've taken a picture of it with the scarf and sling unattached to show you how it'd look like. It's pretty pricy though, more than $50. Can't really remember how much. But then again, it doesn't look cheap! Hehehe
Check it out anytime you're in Batu Bersurat, and remember to say you found out about the shop through Orchid Row! :P -

Hi Amy! So nice to hear from you too. Where've you been?!
Yeah, there were really some unique pieces there. A refreshing change from the more commonly found clothes in other stores. I'm waiting for new arrivals for March to arrive to see if there are anything else I'd like. :)
