My First Time.... With Ojon

Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment

Hello girls! (And men, if any).

If you had been following me on Facebook and Twitter, then you'd know that I just bought the Ojon Treatment Cream from The ANstore yesterday. I was excited about it because my hair is in DIRE need of some tender loving care.

I'm not the type to go for hair treatments often at the salon, because it's too expensive to go often and sometimes, I just don't have the time. So, I'm always on a lookout for a cheaper and convenient alternative. When The ANstore introduced the Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment, I was eager to try it out.

My Ojon tub :)

The Ojon comes in a 150ml rounded bottom tub, nicely packaged in brown box made of recycled material. On opening the Ojon, there is a protective clear plastic seal that you must remove carefully. Included is a small brown brush and a brown disc cover. The cover is to remove air from the tub after using the Ojon and reseal it.

This is NOT me. But that's exactly how my hair looks like, except my hair is black.

Now, my hair is thick and long. Not only is it a lot in volume, its strands are also thick and coarse.

I had my hair curled permanently about 2 years ago and have only trimmed it once in awhile since then. It's not exactly damaged but it is quite dry and split ends are also starting to show.

  • I scooped about one teaspoon of the Ojon into my hands and rub it between my palms until it turned into an oily substance. It's a messy business so make sure you do this in the bathroom.
  • You don't have to pre-wash your hair so I started to smooth the cream into my hair from scalp to the ends of my hair.
  • Repeated the previous step until my hair is saturated. I tried to use as little as possible but ended up using about eight tablespoons! I also used an extra tablespoon for the dry ends of my hair.
  • Once done, I used the provided comb to distribute the cream evenly. To make sure my hair absorbs the Ojon, I blewdry my hair for 5 minutes with the hairdryer set on 'hot'. Then, I put on a shower cap so that it won't stained my pillows when I sleep. You don't have to leave it on overnight unless you have very damaged hair. Twenty minutes would already be enough.

Next day, I woke up and found that my lousy shower cap had came off. So, I have a pillow case waiting for me to wash it. Anyway, on to the results:-

  • It was a bit difficult for the shampoo to lather, so I had to shampoo my hair twice. Once shampooed, I noticed that my hair is less tangled than it usually is.
  • Used my conditioner next. I usually need to use a lot of conditioner, because that's the only time I can 'comb' my permed hair. But this time, I didn't use as much. Getting excited at this point.
  • After washing the conditioner off, I towel-dried my hair. My hair felt different. I don't know how to describe it, but it felt like new hair.
  • Took out my hair dryer again and started to blow dry my hair. I usually blow dry it until it's just damp, then let it air dry. This is to keep your hair from getting all dried out.

My hair is completely dry now and, it is definitely smoother, softer and more manageable. I'm feeling the ends of my hair now and it feels so much softer than the usual brittle ends. I'm really happy with the results, especially after only one time of using it! I can't help imagining the condition of my hair after using the Ojon for a month.

So if you have been sitting on the fence about the Ojon, be rest assured. I am confident that you will be able to see a noticeable difference after one use. Just as The ANstore had said, although it's expensive, in the long run, it sure beats getting regular hair treatments at the salon.

i love Ojon!

    Wow! It is that good?!

I too have dry hair ( I blame it on my Indian genes!) and in the past I had to cut my hair very often and use LOADS of conditioner and weekly treatment. Maybe I should give this Ojon a try yeah...

    Thanks for the review!

    Hi Kylie!
I've got mine done at I Salon at Gadong. The stairs up to there is next toTK Teahouse. Look for Kenny to do ur perm. I'm thinking of perming again since my hair grew out n now it looks kinda funny coz it's straight on top and curly at the bottom.
I went to him becoz of several ppl's recommendations n had no regrets. But just ask him whether the spa perm he use is suitable for ur hair. It's kinda pricy though, so don't be shocked when he gives u his price. I paid about $250 n my hair was just past my shoulder blades at the time.
Oh make an appointment to see him at 2451425.
    Good luck! :D

Yup it's spa perm :) (aka hot perm) which is MUCH healthier for hair. Cold perm is the ones old style perms. they both use different chemicals, one main diff is that for spa perms, when ur hair is wet, it looks straighter but gets curly as ur hair dries, while for cold perms, it's curliest when wet. but generally spa perm technique doesn't dry out ur hair as much.
But ask Kenny about it yea? Coz since i went there 2 years ago, my info might be outdated! hehe Let us know the results if u do decide to get a perm there k? So can share with the other readers. :)
